The record
The Erenberg Tarot is the brainchild of Steve Erenberg - a professional artist, graphics designer, and colleague of the late US Games Systems Inc founder, Stuart R. Kaplan. The Erenberg Tarot is a variant of, or inspired by, the Rider-Waite Tarot. In the Rider-Waite Tarot, the illustrations tend to look at a complete scene from a distance - people are seen in their entirety from head to toe, usually in a setting with a detailed background, and often details in the foreground as well. The Erenberg Tarot differs in that it tends to focus on significant details from the Rider Waite Smith Tarots illustrations, in extreme close-up. For example, in the Aces from any suit in the Rider-Waite Tarot a hand is seen in the middle ground holding the symbol of the suit. In the Erenberg Tarot the focus zooms in a hand is in the foreground (a hand doesnt even feature in the Ace of Cups) and the background details remain similar to those in the Rider-Waite Tarot. Another feature unique to the Erenberg Tarot is that the habitues of the mysterious world of tarot are also seen in extreme close-up to the extent that scarcely an entire face (nor the body it is attached to) is seen in full.
