The Wisdom of the Wild Things Oracle (henceforth known as the Wild Things Oracle) is loosely inspired by Maurice Sendak's famous childrens story Where the Wild Things Are. In the story Max, a little boy who is a bit of a wild thing himself, is sent to bed without his supper for misbehaving. As he winds down from his tantrum he travels to the land where the wild things are, and far from being scared of these large creatures Max tames them and joins in their wild rumpus. The creatures want Max to stay and become their king but Max realises that he wants to be at home and thats where he returns to. The Wild Things Oracle takes its cue from the idea that wild things live in our subconscious, in the dark parts of our psyche. These creatures arent monsters, but rather connected to a continuum of myth and legend stretching back into the mists of time a land where mermaids and unicorns, dream spirits and mythical creatures dwell. These creatures are messengers and symbols that represent the minds brilliant connection to things that are perceived not without eyes nor with our conscious thoughts. In many ways they are deeply connected to the mysterious world of dreams in that they help
