I’'ve just unpacked my copy of the Venetian Carnival Tarot Kit by Roxana Paul. Inside the nice sturdy box I found a limited edition deck of 78 gilded edged cards and a 120-pages companion book. Have you ever wished you could visit the famous Venetian Carnival, buy an exotic mask, hire a beautiful costume and feel the spirit of Venice'’s extravagance and adventure? And more, there is a high probability that the first Sola Busca Tarot (now in Pinacoteca di Brera, Milan) was created by an anonymous illuminator in Venice in 1491. Such a virtual journey becomes possible now due to Roxana Paul’'s new deck: Venetian Carnival Tarot. She created unique carnival costumes and masks, eccentric and inimitable in its beauty, as well as a historical Venice'’s background. I found in the cards a lot of skilfully tailored hats, wigs, jewellery, and accessories of that epoch. Molto impressionante! (as the Italians would say).
