The reviewer's arc is a familiar collector's story: keen owner of the original Quantum Tarot, disappointed when it went out of print, delighted at the reissue. Lo Scarabeo picked it up and gave version 2.0 a larger publisher's presentation, which is the usual fate of a successful independent deck. Physics-themed tarot has an obvious trap, which is treating quantum mechanics as a synonym for mystery and helping itself to the vocabulary without the content. Whether this one clears that bar is a question the images have to answer card by card. What can be said is that it earned enough loyalty in its first edition for its disappearance to be felt and its return to be noticed, which is not nothing. It suits readers drawn to scientific imagery, owners of the first edition comparing printings, and collectors following Lo Scarabeo's acquisitions. Physicists may wince, and that is worth knowing going in.
