Artist Paulina Cassidy is back with a new tarot deck. Paulina Cassidy (who also goes by the name Paulina Fae) is the brilliant creator behind the Paulina Tarot, The Joie De Vivre Tarot, and the Spiritsong Tarot. As always, Paulinas unique art and unique vision creates an appealing and sympathetic tarot deck, this time centred on the idea of daydreams, fantasies, and magical visions. The word whimsical is often used to describe Paulina Cassidys art, with the implication that these are conjurings from her imagination, however I recall reading an interview where she stated plainly that these were images that were channelled, rather than developed through artistic process. This no doubt gives them their immediacy and their mysterious power. The Phantasma Tarot is a 78 card deck, with 22 Major Arcana cards and 56 Minor Arcana cards. This is a fully illustrated deck. Several of the Major Arcana cards have been renamed The Hierophant is now The Mentor, The Lovers is now simply Love, The Wheel of Fortune has been renamed The Wheel of Life, The Devil is reimagined as The Djinn, and Judgement is now titled Awakening.
