Completed between 1982 and 1983 and published posthumously in an edition of three hundred numbered copies. The circumstances are most of what can be said with confidence about this deck, and they are not incidental: a posthumous limited edition is a memorial object as much as a working tool, and it was produced at a scale that guaranteed it would stay scarce. Scarcity does it a disservice in one respect. Three hundred copies means almost no accumulated reading experience, no body of commentary, and no second-hand consensus about whether the images hold up in practice. What survives is the artist's completed intention and the fact that someone chose to finish it and issuing after her death. It suits collectors of limited Italian editions, readers interested in tarot produced outside the publishing mainstream, and anyone who values a deck as an artifact first. As a working deck it is close to untestable, since so few people have handled one.
