The Canon's read

Tarot Canon's own assessment, written for this catalog.

Alexander Kiy's Tarot-Body is the catalog's only deck you could theoretically practice alongside: seventy-eight cards whose faces are sequenced human poses in Vinyasa yoga style, ink figures ringed with elemental and astrological markings, published online-only in 2009. The premise is serious under its novelty: yoga and tarot both sequence the body-mind through archetypal stations, and mapping asana flow onto the arcana makes the deck readable as movement notation, the Fool's journey as a practice you could physically take. Online-only publication places it with the catalog's fragile digital stratum, preserved here against the usual fate of unhosted work. The Thoth-frame markings give the poses their esoteric coordinates. It suits yoga practitioners who read, movement teachers hunting sequence inspiration with symbolic depth, embodiment-practice readers, and digital-ephemera collectors. Chair-bound readers may consult it aspirationally, which is, after all, how most yoga is consumed.
