Noa Ikeda is a Japanese-American artist who has worked as a freelance illustrator on many mobile games and websites. Early exposure to a Major Arcana deck gave them an interest in the mystical nature and complex symbolism of the tarot. Ikeda promised themself that they would one day illustrate a deck based on their own stories and characters, and the end result is the Heavenly Bloom Tarot. This deck is primarily driven by a fantasy narrative with underlying themes of nature and the need and desire to protect our planet. Like all good fantasy stories there is some complex world building which backgrounds the overall narrative depicted in the artwork. At the heart of this narrative are 5 tribes, each of which holds power over a suit of the Minor Arcana. The suit of Swords depicts winged people called the Sanclis, who live in magnificent cities among the clouds. Their creators gifted them with intellect and advanced technology. A tribe of desert warriors called the Adunians rule over the suit of Wands. They were created by a fire spirit.
