The Canon's read

Tarot Canon's own assessment, written for this catalog.

The Erotica Tarot from Sweden's Vipstar, by P. Brawin, P. Carlsson and Y. Trollstierna, belongs to the adult wing of the tradition: intimacy and sensuality carried across a full seventy-eight cards, mature imagery treated as legitimate arcana territory. The wing is older than embarrassment admits; the Tarot has handled desire since its Lovers first stood under the angel, and explicit decks simply refuse the tradition's usual veils. The honest case for erotic tarot is interpretive: desire, union and vulnerability are among the actual subjects readings circle anyway, and a deck that pictures them plainly can read those questions without euphemism. The honest caution is contextual, this is a deck for private practice and consenting tables. It suits adult readers working intimacy questions directly, collectors of the erotic-deck tradition and of Scandinavian publishing curiosities, and couples comfortable with the register. Readers who prefer the veils have the entire rest of the catalog, veils included.
