The Canon's read
Tarot Canon's own assessment, written for this catalog.
Every card reader knows the failure mode this deck was built against: a simple question put to the cards, and a nebulous answer back. Angel Answers, from Doreen Virtue and Radleigh Valentine in 2014, is engineered for the opposite: forty-four cards whose messages are deliberately clear, direct and unambiguous, the oracle equivalent of a straight yes, no or wait. Within Virtue's large catalog this is the utility deck, less atmosphere, more verdict.
That design honesty cuts both ways. The deck does exactly what it promises, and what it promises is thin by construction: direct answers leave little room for the reflective work that gives card practice its depth, so it functions best as a supplement beside a fuller deck rather than as anyone's whole practice. It suits readers who want quick clarity, angel-oracle collectors, and practitioners who keep one plainspoken deck for plainspoken days. Note the era too: Virtue later left the field she defined, which makes this a document of the angel-oracle boom at full commercial polish.
